A tireless, disciplined defensive midfielder, Érik Lira was developed at Pumas and truly broke out at Cruz Azul, where he became an undroppable fixture. He tackles, recovers and organizes, and rarely loses his position — his game is better understood by what he prevents than by what he produces.
